How to Change Your Manuscript in a Project

Looking to change your manuscript after you've already created a project? Here's what to do depending on whether you have already matched the audio.

The ability to update your manuscript after changing a project will greatly depend on whether you have already uploaded your audio files.

Here is a breakdown of what to do in each scenario.

1. You have uploaded your script only, but not your audio files

If you have not yet uploaded audio files, good news! You can change the manuscript by clicking the small "change manuscript" button to the right of your project title.

Already created a Pronunciation or Character Guide?

No worries! When you replace your script, all your existing research from the previous manuscript will remain. You’ll also be able to scan for any new words in the updated version.

Want to create a backup just in case?

Use the Import/Export feature to download your research and re-upload it later if needed.

2. You have uploaded both your manuscript and your audio

If you have already uploaded the audio to your project, unfortunately, you can no longer change the script. This is because the script has already been matched to your audio files.

In this case, there are two ways to proceed:

  1. You can add additional chapters to your book using the manual chapter creation feature. Read more on that here.
  2. You can start a new project with your updated manuscript.
