      Manuscript Processing Options

      This article will explain Pozotron's options for processing your script in Pozotron

      When creating a new project in Pozotron, you now have the option to define how the system handles PDF manuscript annotations.

      This feature is useful for PDF manuscripts and allows you to control how Pozotron interprets various annotations, such as strikethroughs and comments.

      Enabling PDF Annotation Handling

      To access and configure these settings:

      1. Go to the Create New Project page.

      2. Scroll to the bottom and click the plus button to expand Manuscript Processing Options.

      3. Enable PDF Annotation Handling to reveal the following controls.

      Option 1: Remove Crossed-Out Text

      • What it does: Ignores any text that has been struck through in the PDF.

      • When to use: Ideal for removing non-verbal content like:

        • Footnotes

        • URLs

        • Captions

        • Directions that are not meant to be read aloud

      • How to mark text:

        • In Adobe Acrobat, highlight the text and click the Strikethrough tool.

      Option 2: Add Comment Text to the Manuscript

      • What it does: Inserts the text from a PDF comment directly into the manuscript. 

      • How it works:

        • In Adobe Acrobat, use the Comment tool and place a comment in the PDF.

        • Pozotron will read the comment and insert its content into the manuscript, just after the location of the comment.

      Option 3: Replace crossed-out text with a comment

      • What it does: Replaces struck-through text with the content of an adjacent comment. 

      • Example:

        • Strike through a line like: “Welcome to the podcast.”

        • Add a comment: “Welcome to the show.”

        • Pozotron will replace the original line with the comment text.

      Option 4: Ignore Text-Free Annotations

      • What it does: Tells Pozotron to ignore these comments so that any markup done on the script does not cause false positives in the proofing tool.

      • How to use:

        •  Use the Add Comment Box tool in Adobe Acrobat.
