Does your PDF have ligatures, formatting errors, or other issues causing Pozotron to be unable to read it properly? This article will show you how to clean it up using Pozotron's PDF Fixer.
PDFs sometimes contain issues that cause software like Pozotron to be unable to read them correctly.
If your script has these issues, you may see something like this in your Proofing tool:
Follow the steps below to clean up your PDF and get it working properly:
1. Open Pozotron's PDF Fixer
From the Proofing tab, find this icon in the top right corner:
Clicking it will open a new window where you can choose how Pozotron should fix your PDF!
2. Choose the correct settings
Depending on the issue you're having, you'll need to toggle on different options in this window.
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR): Fixes misread characters in your PDF.
- Double-page Spread: Use if multiple pages are combined into one (e.g., pages 1 & 2 together).
- Remove All Images: Automatically removes images from your PDF.
- Reprocess Audio in Project: Keep this on if you’ve already uploaded audio.
NOTE: Reprocessing the audio will reset all annotations and remove any proofing progress that you've made so far.
However, this will not remove anything from the Pronunciation or Character Guides.
3. Run the Fix!
Once you've selected the right options, click "Fix My PDF, " and Pozotron will start reprocessing the project!
You'll know it's working if you see this loading bar:
It may take some time to reprocess the script and your audio files, but when it's finished, you will see these errors disappear.
